About the project
The 1-SWARM project brought together 13 European organisations from six countries to address European competitiveness by reducing implementation complexity for solutions built on Cyber-Physical Systems of Systems (CPSoS). The project developed frameworks enabling intelligent CPS to function collaboratively as a unified swarm while preserving each system's individual operational independence.

- Facilitate coordination of intelligent cyber-physical systems across their complete lifecycle
- Enable swarm-based collaboration without surrendering individual system autonomy
- Reduce implementation complexity for Cyber-Physical Systems of Systems (CPSoS)
- Strengthen European competitiveness in intelligent automation and CPS technology
Flexbridge's role
Flexbridge contributed expertise in IEC 61499-based distributed control architectures, supporting the development of modular and interoperable control solutions within the swarm coordination framework.
